Birmingham Wildlife Conservation Park
Who doesn’t love a trip to the zoo? Being able to see a variety of animals up close and personal is one of the most popular family activities out there.
There are zoos up and wildlife centres up and down the UK. Some of which are huge and have plenty of animals to see, others that are on the smaller side but still have lots to give.
One of the smaller centres is the Birmingham Wildlife Conservation Park. Based in Cannon Hill Park, this Conservation Park is one that should always feature on a must do list if you are visiting the City with your family.
What animals can you see there?
Whilst the Birmingham Wildlife Conservation Park is a small zoo, that doesn’t mean that you won’t be able to enjoy your time here. There are a variety of different animals spread out throughout the grounds. You can take in the European Lynx, a big cat that used to be a native animal here in the UK. There is also a number of monkeys, tamarins and lemurs too. Some of which are rare species.
The park also has domestic animals too. Just like goats, pigs, guinea pigs and sheep. Or if you like something a little smaller then you can take a look at the snakes and lizards that also call the park their home.
What else is there at Cannon Hill Park?
There isn’t just the animals to see when you head to Cannon Hill Park, there are also lots of other things that you can see and do when you are in the area.
The fun park is a big attraction for the children as is the golden putter mini golf. You can also take a ride on the great fun land train or try out your boating skills on the swan lake.
If you are feeling hungry then you can also visit the garden tea room, where you will find a variety of amazing food and drink. All delicious, served in lovely surroundings and available at a good price too! Just what you and your family will need after exploring all the beautiful surroundings that the Park has to offer.
Ideal no matter the weather. Cannon Hill Park and the Birmingham Wildlife Conservation Park really take you away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre and into a green and peaceful area. You can spend the day exploring or kick back and relax. What you do is really down to you and how you are feeling.
